JOSEPH BARNES
Joseph Herman "Joe" Barnes, 62, of 103 Valley View Drive, died Friday at his home. He served with the U.S. Army and had a great love of guitars and music. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Cleatus Barnes; and step-father, Desmond Waters Burgess.
A graveside memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from Fairview Cemetery, La Grange.
Mr. Barnes is survived by his mother, Doris Dawson Burgess of Goldsboro; daughter, Melanie Yohn Barnes of Asheville; step-daughter, Paula Gail Davis of Currituck; sister, Teresa Overman of Goldsboro; brother, Joseph Ronald Barnes of Asheville; half-sister, Kitten Love of Asheville; step-mother, Pauline Barnes of Asheville; aunt, Beatrice Rogers of Asheville.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 until 6 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, La Grange and at other times they will be at the home. Arrangements are with Rouse Funeral Home, La Grange.
