MARGARET BROWN

Margaret Edna Henderson Brown, 83, formerly of 902 S. Franklin St., died Monday at Britthaven Nursing Home.

The funeral will be held Friday at noon at St. Stephen's Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Ezekiel Sutton will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Brown was the daughter of the late Will and Susie Budd Henderson and the widow of Eli Brown. A graduate of Dillard High School and Elizabeth State University, she retired from Wayne County Public Schools in 1982, having taught 39 years. She was a member of St. Stephen's Missionary Baptist Church, Bear Creek Association, Western Ministerial, Deacons Sunday School BTU Union, and Wayne County Chapter of the North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE).

She is survived by one daughter, Emma Lee Hamilton of Dudley; four grandchildren, Curtis Maurice Hamilton (Angie) of Raleigh, Lt. Reginald Hamilton (Tonya) of Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., Brian Hamilton of Fairfax, Va., and Deanna Cofield (Brian's fiancée) of Springdale, Md.; four great-grandchildren, Reuben Curtis "Curt" Hamilton, Jasmine Briana Hamilton, Elijah Marquis Hamilton and Emily Nicole Hamilton; two sisters-in-law, Carrie Gardner of Laurinburg and Esther McCray of Maxton; and several nieces and nephews, including Shirley J. Hinnant and Terrill Atkinson of Goldsboro.

The viewing will be from 3 until 8 p.m. today at Rhodes Funeral Home in Goldsboro and the family will be present from 7 until 8 p.m.

The funeral procession will line up at the home of Emma Lee Hamilton, with whom she resided, at 205 Lakewood Avenue, Dudley.
