MARY C. GRIFFIN

WARSAW -- Mary Sue Cummings Griffin, 65, passed away Thursday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

Born May 25, 1939 to the late Mr. Julious and Eva Mae Clark Cummings of Robeson County, Mrs. Griffin was a member of the Fellowship Church of God, Magnolia. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marie Locklear Raines.

Surviving Mrs. Griffin are her husband, Herman Griffin of the home; children, Ricky Locklear and wife Wendy of Warsaw, Nelson Locklear and wife Charity of Kenansville, Johnny Griffin and wife Sandy of Warsaw, Jeffrey Griffin and wife Betty of Faison, Barbara Brock and husband Randy of Faison, and Mr. Perry Raines (Marie Locklear Raines); step-children, Rock Locklear and wife Margie, Barbara Serctis and husband Lee, Artis Locklear and wife Gladys, Mildred Locklear, all of Pembroke, John Locklear and wife Barbara of Charlotte, Billy Locklear of Denver, Peggy Lee and husband Lawrence of Rockingham and Eileen Blades of McCall, S.C.; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, John Cummings and wife Carol, Wade Cummings and wife Judy, James Alton Cummings and wife Tina, all of Lumberton, Charlie Ray Cummings and wife Clara of Parkton, Hardy Cummings and wife Sarah of Fairmont, Carl Cummings and wife Lela of McDonald; step-brother, Bobby Coombs of Lumberton; sisters, Lorraine Brooks and husband Larry of Fairmont, Betty Lou Locklear and husband Fuller of Maxton; step-sisters, Rosa Chavez of Raymen and Dovie Phillips and husband Ray of Florida.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Community Chapel, Community Funeral Home, 1654 Highway 24/50 East, Warsaw. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park, Highway 11, Pink Hill. The Rev. Asa Lee will officiate.

Visitation will be today from 7 until 9 p.m. at Community Funeral Home of Warsaw and at other times, at the Warsaw family home.
