JIMMY O. CASEY

KINSTON -- Jimmy Oliver Casey, 47, of 2188 Dogwood Lane, died Thursday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Gordon Street Christian Church with the Rev. Mark Benson officiating. Burial will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Casey was born in Lenoir County to the late Floyd Casey Jr. and Stella White Casey. He graduated from South Lenoir High School in 1975 and received a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from Mount Olive College in 1998. He was employed with the North Carolina Department of Transportation and was formerly employed with Lenoir County Sheriff's Department for 23 years. He was a member of Gordon Street Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Casey; daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Casey; sister, Jane Casey Monroe and husband, Alton, of Snow Hill; brother, Frankie Casey and wife, Lesli, of Kinston; two stepsisters, Linda Herring and husband, Jake, of Kinston, Frances Cash and husband, Leon, of Kinston; two stepbrothers, Bobby Wilkins and wife, Janice, of Durham, Dennis Wilkins and wife, Beth, of Dover; father and mother-in-law, Milton and Dot Kennedy of Kinston; nephews, Jack Monroe of Raleigh, David Monroe of Snow Hill and Charlie Casey of Kinston; niece, Suzanne Janes of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Ruth Casey.

The family will receive friends today from 7 until 9 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the home.
