ROBERT ATKINSON
FAISON -- Robert L. Atkinson, 89, of 1134 Suttontown Road, died Friday at Sunbridge Rehabilitation Center in Mount Olive.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Western Assembly Head-quarters in Newton Grove. Bishop Charles Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Newton Grove.
Mr. Atkinson served as a deacon for many years at White Oak Disciples Church in Newton Grove.
He is survived by two daughters, Belinda Atkinson-Ward and Patricia Atkinson of Mount Olive; two sons, Excell Cole of Washington, D.C. and Donald Atkinson Sr. of Newton Grove; three sisters, Josie Henry of Clinton, Grace Atkinso of Charlotte and Georgia Thomlison of Pennsylvania; one brother, Fulton Atkinson of Newton Grove; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8 at White Oak Disciples Church.
Brock Memorial & Worley Funeral Home is serving the family.
