AZILE B. McLAMB

RALEIGH -- Azile Brock McLamb, 90, died Monday.

She was born on July 26, 1913, in Wayne County, the eldest of seven children of Homer Brock who founded and published the Mount Olive Tribune for 40 years and the late Ella King Brock of Duplin County. She was the wife of the late Rev. Howard McLamb, Methodist pastor and district superintendent. Mrs. McLamb served as choir director and organist at several pastorates. They lived in Raleigh, Ahoskie, Hamlet, Goldsboro, Burlington and Greenville.

Mrs. McLamb is survived by her son, Kinnon McLamb of Mill Valley, Calif.; a brother, Avery Brock of Reidsville; and a grandson.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Springmoor Chapel at 1500 Sawmill Road with the Rev. Phyllis Mayo officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Raleigh Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary's St.
