KATHERINE PERRY

LAGRANGE -- Katherine Lewis Perry, 78, of 204 Lake Pines Drive, died Sunday at her residence.

She was born in Wayne County to the late Emmitt and Flonnie Best Lewis. She attended the Army Cadet Nurses Training Corps and graduated from James Walker Hospital School of Nursing. She was a retired nurse from Caswell Center and was a member of LaGrange United Methodist Church. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of The Golden Agers Club and was a participant in several North Carolina Senior Games where she won billiard, swimming and bowling championships.

A Service of Remembrance will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home. A private family burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs. Perry is survived by her husband, Orrin Wallace Perry Jr.; three children, Lillian "Penny" Perry Gray of Goldsboro and special family friend Oden Ratcliff of LaGrange, Orrin Wallace "Wally" Perry III and wife, Allyson of LaGrange, Mena Perry Parson and husband, Dennis of Fredericktown, Mo.; brother, Gordon H. Lewis of Goldsboro; five grandchildren, Samuel Perry Gray, Jaime Lyn Perry, Katherine Elaine Gray, Anne Elizabeth Dail and Christina Lauren Willis; and a great-grandchild, Bella Anne Dail.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Elsie Lewis Eason of Florence, S.C.

The family will receive friends at Rouse Funeral Home on Tuesday following the service, and at other times at the home.
