LOLA B. BROGDEN

KNIGHTDALE -- Lola Bowden Brogden, 95, of 8629 Buffalo Road, died Tuesday at Rex Hospital.

The funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Blane Smith officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

A native of Wayne County, Mrs. Brogden was the daughter of the late Basil James Bowden Sr. and Estelle Mae Dawson Bowden and was the widow of Walter Earl Brogden. She was a member of Dudley Christian Church, where she had served as the pianist in her early years.

Her survivors include a daughter, Pat Chapman, and husband, Don, of Knightdale; three sons, Maurice Bowden and wife, Ann, of Richmond, Billy Brogden and wife, Ann, and Jimmy Brogden and wife, Candy; one sister, Estelle Bowden Edmundson of Rocky Mount; eight grandchildren, Cynthia Thompson and husband, Jimmy; Velinda Clarke and husband, Lyn; Dee Collett and husband, Guy; Zina Sutton and husband, Mike; Kenny Brogden and wife, Penny; Jeff Brogden, Caroline Wheeler and husband, Chuck; and Sharon Evans; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, B.J. Bowden, and a sister, Noma Carbenell.

The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 until 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
