NEWTON GROVE -- Mrs. Hermie Edwards Harris, 89, of Liberty Commons Nursing Center, Benson, formerly of Newton Grove, died Friday.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Blackmon's Grove P.F.W. Baptist Church. The Rev. Cary Harrell will officiate. Burial will follow in Blackmon's Grove PFW Baptist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Harris McLamb of Lumberton and Frances Merritt Shipp of Newton Grove; sons, James Robert Harris of Dunn and Jackie Ray Harris of Cary; sister, Lauretta Hobbs Riley of Newton Grove; brothers, Shelton Edwards of Newton Grove and Matthew Edwards of Newton Grove; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 until 9 p.m.
