ETHEL MERRITT

Ethel Teachey Ellis Merritt, 85, formerly of the Sterling House, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Merritt was the daughter of James and Pearl Lancaster Teachey and the widow of Raymond Ellis and Dick Merritt.

She was a member of Saulston United Methodist Church and the funeral will be held there at 11 on Friday morning. The Rev. Rick Ward will officiate. Burial will be in Teachey Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Merritt is survived by two daughters, Sandra Buck and husband, David, of Atlanta, Ga., and Bonnie Lewis and husband, David, of Greenville; and six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Howard Ellis.

Although flowers are welcome, memorial donations may be made to Saulston United Methodist Church, 5014 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

The family will receive friends at the church during the hour prior to the funeral on Friday, and other times at the home of Bonnie and David Lewis, 1723 Beaumont Drive, Greenville.
