The funeral for Martha Best, 59, of 103-B Taylor St., will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Rouse Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, LaGrange. Dr. Walter C. Coles will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Lawn Memorial Park in Kinston.
She is survived by her husband, John Quiency Best of the home; two sons, John Quiency Best Jr. of Kinston and Terry Best of Pine Tops; three daughters, Bonita Wilkes of LaGrange, Cassandra Thomas of Maryland and Yolanda Best of Durham; four brothers, Herman Waters of LaGrange, McKinley Wooten of Kinston and Edward Wooten and Henry Wooten of New York; one sister, Annie Ruth Philpot of Washington, D.C.; and six grandchildren.
The viewing will be on Thursday from 2 until 8 p.m. at LaGrange Mortuary.
