WILLIAM BOURAS

WILMINGTON -- William Thomas Bouras, 79, died Sunday at Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove.

He was born in Pakersburg, W.Va., and was the son of the late Thomas T. and Ella Elizabeth Sayer Bouras. Mr. Bouras was a veteran of the US Navy, having served in World War II, Pacific and European Theaters, and the Korean War, participating in eight major battles. He had retired from Progress Energy as the plant manager of the L.V. Sutton Plant. He was a member of the Pine Valley United Methodist Church, the Pine Valley Country Club, the CP&L Pioneer Club, VFW, Kiwanis, and was active in the UNCW Adult Leadership.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Arnold Bouras of the home; two daughters, Cherie Lyn Bouras of Goldsboro and Babette B. Sutton of Salisbury, Md.; and a sister, Zelma B. Watson of Parkersburg, W.Va.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Andrews Valley Chapel by Rev. Jim Lea. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at Andrews Valley Chapel.
