DOUGLAS KELLY

Douglas Lane Kelly, 44, died Wednesday evening at Glencare of Warsaw after a battle with ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease).

He was born in Alabama to Jimmie Louise Hawkins Saranthus and the late Thomas Ray Kelly. A member of Friendship Church, he worked as a millwright at QCI.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The Rev. Doug Radford will officiate. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his stepfather, Jake Saranthus of Goldsboro; three children, Douglas Bevills of Oklahoma, Tammy Mast of Georgia and Crystal Townsend of Birmingham, Ala.; one sister, Dana Kelly Gurley of Goldsboro; eight brothers, Tony Kelly and Tim Kelly of Slocomb, Ala., Richard Saranthus, Kenny Saranthus, Wilton Saranthus and Jake Sranthus Jr. of Jackson, Miss., Reese Saranthus of Atlanta, Ga., and Karl Saranthus of Italy; and three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service on Friday night.
