FLORENCE SULLIVAN

FAISON -- Florence Shipp Sullivan, 74, of 4551 Giddensville Road, died Monday morning at SunBridge Care Center in Mount Olive.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, of which she was a long-time member. The Rev. Neal Wingfield will officiate. Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Sullivan, a Sampson County native and the daughter of the late Arthur W. and Emma Jones Shipp, is survived by her husband, G. J. Sullivan of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Joy S. and Robert Oates of Faison; a son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Kim Sullivan of Faison; five grandchildren, Jarman Sullivan III, Kristina Sullivan, Amber Oates, Joe Oates, and Carrie Oates; and two brothers, Dixie Shipp and Frank Shipp, both of Clinton.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Shipp and Willie Kerr Shipp, and two sisters, Emily Ruth Shipp and Grace S. Hovatter.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, and at the home at other times.

Flowers are welcome, or memorial donations may be made to Smith Chapel United Methodist Church.
