JOHN R. FIELDS
Deacon John R. Fields, 80, of 200 Shaw Court, died Tuesday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
The funeral will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Headquarters Building. The Rev. Johnnie C. Sherrod will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Fields was born in Wayne County and was the son of the late Matthew and Jane Ellen Fields. He was educated in Wayne County Schools and was employed at Kemp Furniture Company until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Aleese Fields of the home; a son, Condred Earl Fields of Durham; a sister, Annie B. Mitchell of Goldsboro; and two grandchildren.
The viewing will be on Sunday from 3 until 7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel of Goldsboro. Masonic rites will be conducted there at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
