RUBY PARRISH

SELMA -- Ruby Wells Parrish, 74, died today at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield.

Born January 5, 1930. in Wilson County to the late Noyce Glenn and Elizabeth Stancil Wells, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Roland "Sam" Parrish, and two sons, Elmer Ray Parrish and Bobby Carroll Parrish. Mrs. Parrish had worked as an assembler for Fieldcrest Mills in Smithfield for 29 years before her retirement.

Surviving are her son, Sammy Parrish of Smithfield, daughters, Linda Poole of Selma, Faye Langston of Micro and Kaye Talton of Goldsboro, eight grandchildren and two great granddaughters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the Elder Harold Pittman and the Rev. John Henry Lane officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Parrish Memorial Church Cemetery.
