EDNA KIRBY
CALYPSO — Edna Brock Kirby, 79, of 315 Church Street, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A graveside funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Clayton Sutton officiating.
Born in Duplin County on April 3, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Kornegay Brock. She had been married to the late Isaac Ray Kirby and was a retired secretary with the former Calypso Plywood Company. She was a member of the Calypso Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son, Ernie Kirby and his wife, Donna Kirby, of Dudley; a daughter, Carol K. Jackson and her husband, James C. Jackson, of Cape Carteret; three grandchildren, Casey Jackson Wolpink of Baltimore, MD, Amber Kirby and Brock Kirby, both of Mount Olive; a sister, Thelma B. Taylor of Goldsboro; and a brother, Jasper Brock of Mount Olive.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Kirby.
The family will receive friends at the residence on Tuesday night from 7 until 9 p.m.
