MARY S. SMITH

Mrs. Mary Alice Sutton Smith, 90, of 961 Rosewood Road, died Friday at Britthaven Nursing Home.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Bernice L. Sutton and Minnie McClenny Sutton and was the widow of Marvin Lester Smith. Mrs. Smith was a long-time member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church and had been a member of the Extension Homemakers Club for over 50 years.

Funeral services will be held today at 5 p.m. at Pine Forest United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Crane and Daniel Pettus officiating. Interment will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Ray Mooring of Goldsboro; her son and daughter-in-law, David Glenwood Smith and Eleanor Smith of Goldsboro; her sisters, Marcie Guill of Danville, Va., Rachel Braswell of Goldsboro and Jean Langley of Clayton; her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Smith Simmons of Hermitage, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Gina Rikard and Gwen Bissette; five great-grandchildren, Kathryn Louise Rikard, Alex Rikard, Savannah Bissette, Hunter Bissette and Austin Ray Bissette; and special friend, Linda Dubois of Goldsboro.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Pine Forest United Methodist Church, 867 NC Hwy 581 South, Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends today following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of her daughter, Doris and Ray Mooring, 105 Holland Hill Drive, Goldsboro.
