James Early Jones, 74, died last week at home.
Funeral services will be held privately.
Mr. Jones was born in Linden, N.C., to the late Oscar and Minnie Jones.
He is survived by one stepdaughter and two nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to one's favorite charity.
The family is being served by Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
