RAY C. HARRIS

Ray Columbus "R.C." Harris, 63, died Monday.

The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel of Wilkerson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park.

Mr. Harris, a native of Pitt County, had lived most of his life in the Greenville and Winterville communities. He served in the United States Marine Corps as a rifle instructor, and had been employed with Ajax Magnethermic Corporation in Winterville. For the past 10 years he was involved in the trucking industry. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Snow Hill Lodge 1859.

Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lucy Irene Harris; and a brother, Roy Lee Harris.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Arnold Harris; one son, Kenneth Ray Harris of Greenville; a daughter, Debra Faye Spain of Bear Grass; two stepdaughters, Deanna Johnson and Donna Hill and her husband Bill of Winterville; two stepsons, Steve Arnold and his wife Kim of Ayden and Donovan Arnold of Greenville; three granddaughters, Lea Harris, Raeann Harris and Tabitha Spain; a grandson, Skyler Harris; a step-granddaughter, Ashley Arnold; five step-grandsons, Chris Stancill, Brandon Stancill, Kacey Wilson, Brent Hill and Jordan Hill; a great-step-granddaughter, Lauryn Arnold; two brothers, Bobby M. Harris and his wife Dolores and H. Vernon Harris and his wife Glenda, all of Greenville; three special cousins, Kenneth and Mary Jane Vanderburg and Judy Roberson; and several special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Wilkerson Funeral Home, and at other times will be at the residence at 4472 Juanita Avenue, Ayden.
