LILLIAN CARR

Lillian Barnes Carr, 80, a native of Princeton, died Saturday in New York.

She was the daughter of the late Bishop Clarence and Ellen Barnes.

After the death of her first husband, Mason Sherard, she married Leslie Carr, who survives. She worked for the New York City Board of Education for 26 years, retiring in 1991.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by six daughters, Eleanor Vanderluiji, Alexandria Sherard, Jo-Ann Braswell, Mary Ward, Deborah Williams and Roslyn McNair; three brothers, Paul Stevens, Lorenza Barnes, Jethro Barnes; one sister, Elder Margaret McKeithan; and 27 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 10 at St. James Church of Christ in Manhattan, N.Y.
