PIKEVILLE -- Esther "Pie" Killette Hicks Vinson, 84, a resident of Countryside Living died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Carter and the Rev. C. R. Holder officiating. Interment will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest A. and Mattie Jackson Killette and was the widow of Isaac W. Hicks and Hiram Henry Vinson.

She is survived by two sons, Bill Hicks and wife, Madge, and Ruffin Hicks and wife, Dee, all of Raleigh; four grandchildren, Scarlett Stowe and husband, Jason, Renee Taylor and husband, Brent, Bridgett Murphy and husband, Ransom, and Isaac Hicks; three great-grandchildren; and a stepson, Ronald Vinson of Mount Olive.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Bliss Scott, Lucille Goodman and Irene Howell.

The family will receive friends at Seymour Funeral Home immediately following the service on Thursday night.
