MARY BEAMON

Mary Beamon, 73, of 405 Hooks River Road, died Saturday at her sister's home in Powell, Tenn.

The funeral will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The Rev. Lutrell Spell and the Rev. Johnny Sasser will officiate. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Beamon was a native of Wayne County, born on April 2, 1930, to the late Jim and Flossie Hayes Peacock. She was retired from Cherry Hospital and was a volunteer with the Salvation Army. She was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church and attended Oak Ridge Church of God of Prophecy.

She is survived by one son, Don Peacock and wife, Colette, of Brainerd, Minn.; one daughter, Judy Beamon Brown of Goldsboro; two sisters, Betty Holt of Goldsboro and Bonnie Dillard-Day and husband, Randy, of Powell, Tenn.; one grandson, Derek Peacock of Brainerd, Minn.; and an uncle, Melvin Hayes and wife, Hazel, of Erwin.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service on Friday night, and other times at the residence.
