MAJOR D. JACKSON

LAGRANGE -- Major Daniel Jackson, 91, of 280 Crocus Lane, died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at Brian Center.

Mr. Jackson was born in Wayne County to the late Burl Frank Jackson and Eva Daniels Jackson. He was a retired farmer and a long-time member of Seven Springs United Methodist Church. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying fishing and deer hunting.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 19, 2004, at 3 p.m. at Seven Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Hobbs and Rev. H.L. Harrell officiating. Burial will follow in Seven Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Frances Outlaw Jackson; five children, Woodard Jackson and wife, Judy, of Dudley, Don Jackson and wife, Lynne, of Dudley, Gerald Jackson of Macclesfield, Bertha Mallard of LaGrange and Virginia Hardy and husband, Frazier, of Mount Olive; two sisters, Margaret Carter of Goldsboro and Mildred Helms of Garner; two sisters-in-law, Alva Jackson and Georgia Mae Jackson; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by three brothers, Oscar Jackson, Owen Jackson and Clifton Jackson; and two sisters, Ethel Sutton and Magdalene Casey.

Pallbearers will be Danny Jackson, David Jackson, Craig Jackson, Allen Jackson, Matthew Jackson, Frazier Hardy, Jerry Sutton and Wayne Sutton.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, and at other times they will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Woodard Jackson, 2330 Indian Springs Road, Dudley.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Seven Springs UMC Building Fund or Seven Springs UMC Cemetery Fund, c/o Judy Jackson, 2330 Indian Springs Road, Dudley, N.C., 28333.
