LESTER LANE

The funeral for Lester George "Biggie" Lane, 64, will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church on the corner of George and Spruce streets. Burial will be in the veteran's cemetery in Fayetteville.

Mr. Lane died last Friday at his home in Jersey City, N.J. He was formerly of Goldsboro and was the son of the late Sylvester and Louella Lane.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Lane of the home; four sons, Michael Lester, Gregory and Christopher Lane of Jersey City and Daryl Lane of Irvington, N.J.; one daughter, Jackie McNeil of Fort Washington, Md.; one brother, Charles Lane of Goldsboro; and five sisters, Mary Lane of Goldsboro, Elizabeth Jones of Philadelphia, Marion Lane Jones of Temple Hills, Md., and Janice Sharp of Humboldt, Tenn.; two stepsisters, Brenda Sanders and Linda Savage of Goldsboro; and six grandchildren.

The viewing will be Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Rhodes Funeral Home in Goldsboro. The family will be there to receive friends during the last hour, and will assemble back there on Friday morning at 9:30.
