MARGARET MILLARD

MOUNT OLIVE -- Margaret Hinson Millard, 78, of 222 Bert Martin Road, died Sunday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

Homegoing services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Mount Olive. The Rev. Doug Bartlett will officiate. Entombment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.

Mrs. Millard was a native of Wayne County, born on Nov. 17, 1925, to the late Joe and Eva Jones Hinson. She was a member of the Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She is survived by her four sons, David Millard Jr. and wife, Kay, of Dudley, James Millard Sr. and wife, Frances, of Grantham, Robert Oral Millard Sr. and wife, Diane, of Dudley, and Joe Millard of the home; four daughters, Margaret Darden of Grantham, Peggy Jackson and husband, Allen, of Smithfield, Eva Hinson and husband, Marshall, of Dudley, and Virginia Cherry and husband, John, of Goldsboro; one brother, Joseph Hinson and wife, Pat, of Spokane, Washington; two sisters, Faye Fore of Florida and Lovey Jackson and husband, Howard "Jack", of Mount Olive; 25 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a very special loving companion and friend, "Precious" Millard of the home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David James Millard Sr.; a daughter, Linda Jo Millard; and a sister, Grace Byrd.

The family will receive friends on Thursday night from 7 until 8:30 at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory, and other times at the residence.
