RAY L. WEST

WARSAW -- Ray Lewis West died Friday. Mr. West was born on June 18, 1919, in Duplin County and was the son of the late Luther Lawrence West and Cora Blanchard West.

His survivors are his wife, Margueritte Britt West; his son, Douglas Ray West and wife, Cynthia Clanton West; and a grandson, Zackary Clanton West of Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. West is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

For 35 years he worked with the U.S. Postal Service in the Warsaw Post Office. In World War II he joined the Marine Corps and later became a member of the Warsaw American Legion. He was an active member of the Warsaw United Methodist Church. He worked with senior citizens, Boy Scouts and in LIttle League activities.

A memorial service will be held in the Warsaw United Methodist Church at 7 p.m. Monday. Visitation with family members will follow in the Fireside Room. There will be a private interment at a later date.

The family requests no flowers, but donations may be made to the Warsaw United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 422, Warsaw, 28398.
