BLAIR LONG

Blair Long,12, a sixth grade student at Norwayne Middle School, died Saturday. She was the daughter of Chris and Gay Ginn Long of Goldsboro.

Blair played in the Norwayne Saturday basketball league and played the clarinet in the Norwayne Middle School band.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Wayne Memorial Park with the Rev. Gary Bailey and Wes Boyd officiating.

She is survived, in addition to her parents, by her maternal grandparents, Morris Ray Davis and Aaron Gay Ginn both of Goldsboro; maternal great-grandmother, Isabelle Gwaltney of Goldsboro; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Deanna Messer of Newport; aunts, Melinda Wade and husband Dennis of Pikeville, Clytee Hawley and husband, Charles, of Kenly, Marsha Dills and husband, Randall, of Cameron and Mary MacPherson and husband, Jamey, of Pittsburg, Pa.; uncles, Morris Davis and wife, Tonya, of Goldsboro, Chris Nicholas Long of Angier and Randy Messer and wife, Lynn, of Sumpter, S. C.; cousins, Taylor and Garrett Davis, Blake Dills, Lee Gray, Dana Raper, Erich and Peter Long, Bridget, John, and Jeremy MacPherson; and her two favorite animals, Lily and Magic Long.

Blair was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather, Melvin Lee Gwaltney; a cousin, Dallas Ray Minshew; and maternal grandmother, Mary Darlene Gwaltney Davis.

The family will receive friends from 6 p. m. until 8 p.m. today at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the residence of Charles and Clytee Hawley, 926 Pinkey Rd., Kenly.
