DAVID E. JERNIGAN
DUDLEY -- David Earl Jernigan, 75, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The Reverends Rudolph Rowe and Pete Bass will officiate. Burial will be at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Jernigan was born in Wayne County to the late James David and Gertrude Crumpler Jernigan and was married to the late Mary Sykes Jernigan. He was a member and former deacon at Calvary Baptist Church and was a Foster Grandparent. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Debbie Ann Jernigan and Jerri Lynn Jernigan.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, James D. and Cathy Jernigan of Clayton and Jesse E. Jernigan of Dudley; one brother, James William Jernigan of Goldsboro; one sister, Emma Lee J. Rouse of LaGrange, one granddaughter, Christy Bolin; one great-granddaughter, Hayley Bolin; and a friend, Gray Wade.
The family will be receive friends Tuesday from 2 until 3 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
