RUSSELL BAKER JR.
ROANOKE, Va. -- Russell Carl "Scrubby" Baker Jr., 68, died Monday.
He was born in Mount Olive and was the son of the late Russell Carl Baker Sr. and Mildred Howell Baker.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Oakley's East Chapel. The Rev. Edward Richardson will officiate. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Helen Baker; a son, Russell Carl Baker III; a daughter, Karen Baker Freeman; two brothers, Kenneth "Tommy" Baker of Wytheville, Va., and Carroll Eugene "Gene" Baker of Valrio, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 6 until 8 p.m. at Oakley's East Chapel.
