LESTER HARE

Lester H. Hare, 82, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church with the Rev. Earl Dulaney officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Hare was born in Wayne County to the late Willie Horace Hare and Bertha Tilton Hare. He served during World War II in the Army Air Corps and worked with W.H. Best and Sons for over 40 years. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and its Good Samaritan Sunday School Class and United Methodist Men's Club. He was also a member of the Goldsboro Host Lions Club.

Mr. Hare is survived by his wife, Frances Copeland Hare; his daughters, Susan Hare Bevins and husband Bruce Bevins, of Burlington, Vt., and Betty Hare Schelhorn of Herndon, Va.; a sister, Margaret Hare Moore of Goldsboro; and four grandchildren, Nathaniel Edward Bevins, Jason August Schelhorn, Katharine Frances Schelhorn and David Hare Schelhorn.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at his residence.
