DR. MEL BONNER

LANCASTER, Ky. -- Dr. Mel Bonner died on Feb. 2 at his home on Danville Road in Lancaster. He would have been 69 on Feb. 10.

He was a minister for the Disciples of Christ Christian Church of 50 years and was a former pastor of the First Christian Church in Goldsboro.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Correll Bonner; one daughter, Myra Bonner of Lake Lure, N.C.; one stepdaughter, DeVera Mullen of Lancaster; one stepson, Charles "Chuck" McMullen of Georgetown; and five step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild.

The funeral was held Thursday, Feb. 5, at 2 p.m. at Lancaster Christian Church, under the direction of Spurlin Funeral Home. Burial was in the Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg, Ky.

Memorial donations may be made to Lancaster Christian Church, Heritage Hospice, or the American Cancer Society.
