CALBERT PERKINS

Mr. Calbert Perkins, 80, died Monday, February 9, 2004, in Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Calbert was born January 28, 1924 in the Rosewood Community where he lived his entire life and where he was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Ida Perkins, his brother, Delbert Perkins and his sister, Lucille Jinnette.

A celebration of his life will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Pine Forest United Methodist Church, where he was a life-long member. The Rev. Larry Crane, the Rev. Vernon Braswell and Daniel Pettus will officiate. Interment will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Pine Forest United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Calbert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Inez Bridgers Perkins; a son and daughter-in-law, Bert and Sharon C. Perkins; his daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Steve Keen and Beth and Alan Carr, all of Rosewood. He has seven devoted grandchildren, Lee Perkins and wife, Jennifer of Cary, Melissa Capps and husband, Nicholas of Wilmington, Jessica Perkins of Greenville, Blair Keen of Clayton, Adam Keen of Greenville, Emily Carr and Taylor Carr of Rosewood.

Pallbearers will be Lee Perkins, Adam Keen, Taylor Carr, Jerry Bridgers, Don Gainey and Charles Satterfield.

Memorials may be made to Pine Forest United Methodist Church Building Fund Principal, 867 N.C. Hwy. 581 South, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

The family will greet friends in the church fellowship hall on Wednesday beginning at 6 p.m. and immediately following the service.
