RUTH K. HARRELL
MOUNT OLIVE -- Ruth Kornegay Harrell, 83, of 463 Harrell's Hill Road, died Wednesday morning at Britthaven of Chapel Hill.
She was born in Sampson County to the late Lester B. and Eunice S. Kornegay and was married to the late Milford Z. Harrell. She retired as a licensed practical nurse with Wayne County Memorial Hospital and was a member of Thunder Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church.
A private funeral will be held in the chapel of at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The Rev. Vance Harrell will conduct the service.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Dr. William Yount of Chapel Hill; three sons and daughters-in-law, Clark and Hilda Harrell, Gordon and Kaye Harrell and Jordan and Mary Lois Harrell, all of Mt. Olive; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 6 until 8 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and Crematory of Goldsboro.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C., 27834.
