JIMMY CARTER JR.
CLINTON -- Jimmy Earl Carter Jr., 20, died Saturday at LaSalle Health Care Center in Durham.
He was born in Lenoir County on Dec., 18, 1983, and was the son of Dorothy Bell Smith of Clinton and Jimmy Earl Carter Sr. of Goldsboro. He was the grandson of George Little of Warsaw and the late Addie Lee Bell and Willie and Emma Carter and was the great-grandson of Rosette Carter of Mount Olive. He attended Clinton High School and was employed as a mechanic with Toyota of Clinton.
In addition to his mother and her husband, Ira Smith, and his father and his wife, Sheila Carter, he is survived by his stepfather, Robert Artis of Clinton; three brothers, Robert Artis Jr. of Clinton, Tyre Carter of Goldsboro and Dareton Skinner Jr.; five sisters, Armisha Artis, Robbie Bell and Stephanie Bell of Clinton, Akilah Carter of Godlsboro and Jessica Tann of Faison; one nephew and one niece of the home, and seven uncles and eight aunts.
The funeral will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Andrews Chapel Church in Clinton.
The viewing hours will be from 1 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Brock & Worley Funeral Home.
