RANSOM EVANS

Ransom Ray "Buck" Evans, 72 , of 1401 Clingman St., died Sunday at Durham Regional Veterans Administration Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Evans was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War and was a former employee of Kemp Furniture. He was born in Wayne County and was the son of the late Wade and Lillian Evans.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Ray and Jean Evans and Randy and Eleanor Evans of Goldsboro; two daughters and a son-in-law, Gail and Jody Scarborough of Princeton and Sheila Esquivel of Goldsboro; one brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Carolyn Evans of Goldsboro; one sister, Sarah Louise Perkins of Goldsboro; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James "Pig" Evans, and a sister, Edna Rhodes.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
