VIRGINIA P. SUGG

PRINCETON -- Virginia (Ginny) Peterson Sugg, 79, of 103 E. Third St., Princeton, died Friday evening at Johnston Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Johnston County on June 30, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Junius and Ellen Davis Peterson and was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Rains. Mrs. Sugg was a member of the Princeton United Methodist Church. She was the membership secretary for over 30 years and was a member of the Agnes Fitzgerald Circle.

The funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Princeton United Methodist Church in Princeton with the Rev. Reggie Ponder, the Rev. Shirley Ward and the Rev. John Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends before and after the service, starting at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Sugg; sons and daughter-in-law, Billy and Edwina G. Rains of Lexington and David Rains of Princeton; daughter and son-in-law, Beth R. and Donnie H. Jones of Morehead City; step-sons and wives, Ray and Amy Sugg of Bonlee, Perry Sugg of Durham and Mickey and Debbie Sugg of Wilmington; step-daughters and husbands, Rebecca Sugg of New Zealand, Nancy S. and Danny Pearson of Wilmington, Terry S. Hodgin of Pilot Mountain, Laura S. and Don Daughtry of Princeton and Ginger S. and Don Young of Hermosa Beach, Calif.; sisters, June Leonard of Clayton and Lil Creech of Timmonium, Md.; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Although flowers are welcome, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Princeton United Methodist Church.

The family is being served by Casey Funeral Home in Princeton.
