LILLIE G. SUMMERLIN

MOUNT OLIVE -- Lillie Mae Grady Summerlin, 81, of 138 N.C. 403 E., died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Born in Greene County to the late James and Aaron Joyner Grady, she was the wife of the late Buckner Summerlin. She was preceded in death by sisters, Luvenia Kornegay, Mamie Wilson and Etta Clemons; brothers, Grover Grady and Luther Grady; a grandson, John Lane; and a son-in-law, Colon Garner. A member of Mount Olive Free Will Baptist Church, she attended Word of Faith Church in Kenansville.

Funeral services will be held tonight at 7 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home in Goldsboro with the Rev. Bud Quinn and the Rev. James Spence officiating. Graveside services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Wilson Family Cemetery.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Adrian Franklin "Sonny" and Jan Summerlin of Mount Olive, Levy and Scarlet Summerlin of Mount Olive and Jerry Lynn and Connie Summerlin of Mount Olive; four daughters and sons-in-law, Daisy Jean Summerlin Farrior of Mount Olive, Joan and Sherwood Holmes of Mount Olive, Doris and Alex Benites of Mount Olive and Clara Lee Garner of Mount Olive; two sisters, Mary Jane Kornegay of Mount Olive and Sallie Cruse of Rose Hill; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends immediately following the services at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Forrest and Shirley Farrior, 130 N.C. 403 E., Mount Olive, N.C. 28365.
