CECIL HOLLAND

Cecil Alonza Holland, 85, of 119 Beyer Street died Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory. The Rev. James Rudolph Rowe and Rev. Dan Patrick will officiate. Internment will follow at Pittman Family Cemetery.

Mr. Holland was a native of Wayne County, born on January 5, 1919, to the late Alonza and Bessie Overman Holland. Mr. Holland was a veteran of the United States Army and was a farmer in the Pinkney community for many years. Mr. Holland was the last living survivor of the Holland family.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred C. Holland; three sons, Gary "Butch" Holland and wife, Brenda Willoughby, of Princeton, Melvin Earl Holland and wife, Diane, of Kenly, and Ronnie Cecil Holland and wife, Darlene, of Rosewood; one daughter, Wanda Carol Jones and husband, Kenneth, of Pikeville; eight grandchildren, Brian Holland and wife, Crystal, Tracie Riley and husband, Warren, Allison Moyer and husband, Justin, Brandon Holland, Michelle Holland, Chad Holland, Kristy Jarmusz and husband, Gregory, and Steven Holland; two step-grandchildren, Ashley Grider and Darrel Kornegay; three great-grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight (Thursday) from 7 until 8:30 at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro and other times at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Kenneth Jones, 1994 Hwy. 581 North in Pikeville.
