The funeral for Velda Sharon "Sherry" Cowles Hensley, 51, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Pastor Joseph Leonard will officiate. Burial will be in Princeton Cemetery.
Mrs. Hensley died Wednesday at her home at 3451 Marlin Dr., SE, in Bolivia.
She was born in Wayne County to the late Roy and Geraldine Melvin Cowles. A 1969 graduate of Goldsboro Christian School, she was employed with General Electric for 15 years.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Dallas Hensley; two special sons, Jeff Wheeler of Pikeville and Mike Wheeler of LaGrange; two stepchildren, Dana Joe Hensley of Kannapolis and Angela Michelle Watts of China Grove, and two brothers, Donald Phillip Cowles of Deltona, Fla., and Gene Cowles of Barnardsville, N.C.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Jeff Wheeler, 5271 Hwy 117 North, Pikeville, N.C., 27863.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Jeff Wheeler, 5271 Hwy 117 North, Pikeville, N.C., 27863.
