ADELL W. GARRIS

LAGRANGE -- Adell Wade Garris, 88, of 176 Conover Road went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 20, 2004.

She was born August 23, 1915, in Lenoir County to the late Clifton and Hattie Rollins Wade. Mrs. Garris was a member of LaGrange Church of God. "Aunt Adell," as she was most affectionately known, was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Garris; brothers, Royce Wade, Joseph Wade and James Wade; and sisters, Bertha Wade Garris and Beatrice Wade Hughes. During World War II, Mrs. Garris worked in the ship yards in Norfolk, Virginia. She worked in restaurants in Goldsboro and retired as Golf Course Snack Bar Supervisor (AAFES) on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Aunt Adell was a very special lady, helping many and a friend to all.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 22, 2004 at 6 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home with Rev. Arnold Ball officiating. Interment will be Friday, January 23, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs. Garris is survived by fifteen nieces and nephews along with special friends, Kenneth and Peggy Bartlett.

The family will receive friends following the service Thursday and at other times they will be at the home of Carrie Sanders, 314 Grant Drive, Goldsboro.

Arrangements are by Rouse Funeral Home, La Grange.
