Pedestrian injured in hit and run near KFC on Berkeley

Police, fire and rescue respond to a hit and run with an injured pedestrian near the KFC on North Berkeley Boulevard around 7 p.m.
An unidentified person was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross North Berkeley Boulevard near KFC Monday night, according to police.
Patrol officer M. Parks, with the Goldsboro Police Department, said the driver of the vehicle fled the scene after striking the person, who was transported to Wayne UNC Health Care.
Goldsboro police and firefighters responded to the scene at about 7 p.m. in response to the accident and redirected traffic around the area, in front of the restaurant. Parks did not provide other details, including the age or identity of the victim.
