A man reported being robbed at gunpoint at the Friendly Mart on N.C. 111 South and Spring Bank Road around 11 p.m. Monday, after police found him knocking on doors on Forest Knoll Road around midnight Tuesday, according to a Goldsboro Police Department investigation report.
According to the report, officers found the victim knocking on a door on the 100 block of Forest Knoll Road late Monday night. He matched the description of someone who had been knocking on other doors in the area that night. When questioned, the victim told officers that he had been robbed and was being chased but could not give the officer a consistent story, according to the report.
The victim later told officers that he had gone to the Friendly Mart at N.C. 111 South and Spring Bank Road earlier that night. As he left, three white males approached him and asked for a cigarette. The victim told officers that the men then pulled out a baseball bat and two handguns and robbed him of $60, and then chased him for about half a mile.
According to the report, the victim said he hid under a truck while the men looked for him and was then forced to flee again after his phone went off. When the officer asked the victim why the men continued to chase him after they robbed him, he became "very defiant" and told the officer that he did not have anything else to say to him, according to the report.
