Stolen car is crashed into a bridge pillar on William Street

The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating after an unknown suspect stole a car and later crashed it into a bridge pillar Monday night.
According to an investigation report, at around 11 p.m. Monday the victim reported that their white 2004 Dodge Stratus had been stolen out of the parking lot at 212 Alpha Court by unknown means.
Just before midnight, the same vehicle was involved in an accident on William Street, according to a police department wreck report.
According to that report, the vehicle was traveling south on William Street when it left the road and struck a concrete bridge pillar. The vehicle continued another 134.9 feet toward Greenleaf Street, before the driver got out and fled the scene.
The vehicle sustained moderate damage to the front right side and engine.
The vehicle was valued at approximately $10,000 and no monetary estimate was given for the damage on the report.
