A 13-year-old suffered a broken arm when he was attacked trying to prevent two adults and a juvenile from taking his younger sibling's Halloween candy Tuesday evening.

The victim's mother called the Wayne County Sheriff's Office and reported her 13-year-old son was jumped over Halloween candy.

The teenager was walking in the 200 block of Hideaway Circle with his younger siblings when three people came up to them, and one of them tried to take his younger brother's bag of candy.

A report on the incident filed with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said the 13-year-old then tried to stand up to the three suspects, and the two adult men picked him up and body slammed him.

The two men then held the teenager down while the juvenile suspect began to beat and kick the victim.

The juvenile suspect then jumped on the 13-year-old's left arm and broke it.

Wayne County EMS responded and took the victim to Wayne UNC Health Care for treatment.

The victim told authorities the suspects also reportedly threatened to shoot up his house.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office did not immediately return a phone call seeking more information on the case.
