UMO students attend Phi Beta Lambda leadership conference

Three University of Mount Olive students recently attended the 75th Annual North Carolina Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference (NCPBL SLC) in Charlotte. The students were accompanied by Sonya O'Brien and Dr. Norman Crumpacker, UMO-PBL Chapter co-advisers and members of the NCPBL Professional Division-Foundation.
Chapter President Billy Mansfield of Goldsboro, Chapter Vice President Judith Razafindrakoto of Beulaville, and Chapter Treasurer Heather Taylor of Newton Grove, each completed the State Leadership Conference: Leadership Development Program. Taylor and Razafindrakoto also participated in and placed in two competitive events. Taylor earned second place honors in statistical analysis and eighth place honors in microeconomics. Razafindrakoto placed third in project management and business communications, as well as microeconomics. Both students will represent UMO and North Carolina at the Phi Beta Lambda 2017 National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, CA June 24 - 27.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the University of Mount Olive's Zeta Epsilon Chapter of Phi Beta Lambda Chapter, which was chartered on April 10, 1957.
