Man shoots self in leg accidentally

A man allegedly shot himself in the leg when he was putting on his work boots.
According to a report from the Goldsboro Police Department, Jonathan Sean Davis, 24, of the 1000 block of Slaughter Street, arrived at Wayne Memorial Hospital Friday with a gunshot wound on his right knee.
The report said Davis strapped a 20-gauge shotgun across his chest, and the stock faced his left side.
Davis then bent over to put on his work boots when the gun fired, causing the bullet to hit his leg, according to the report.
The report said Davis does not know how the gun went off, but an investigation is still ongoing.
