There have been five reports of shots fired in the city limits from Friday night through Tuesday morning.
Shots were reportedly fired on North Carolina Street and Simmons Street in the early hours of Sunday morning, but police were unable to locate evidence at either scene.
According to reports filed with the Goldsboro Police Department, five shots were fired in the 400 block of North Carolina Street around 1 a.m. Sunday, and six shots were fired around 4 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of Simmons Street.
Both incidents were reported by the city's ShotSpotter system, which uses sensors to automatically detect gunshots and report them to police. The system went live on July 22 at 7 p.m.
No damage was found in the area of the shots that were reportedly fired in the area of North Carolina Street, and there was no damage reported on the scene of the shots fired on Simmons Street.
Shots were also reportedly fired Friday night on the 400 block of Odell Street.
ShotSpotter detected five shots in the area, and a resident of the area told police a white Toyota Camry had left the area after the shots were fired.
Police were unable to find a vehicle matching the description given by the resident.
Tuesday around 1 a.m., officers were alerted by ShotSpotter that shots were fired in the area of Ida Henry Lane.
Officers responded to the scene, and the report filed on the incident does not specify if any evidence was recovered from the area.
Shots were also reportedly fired Tuesday around 1:45 a.m. in the 600 block of North Rudolph Street.
Officers were yet again alerted to the shots being fired by ShotSpotter, but could not find any evidence of a shooting once they canvassed the area for evidence.
