Shots fired in city neighborhood

Shots fired Saturday afternoon in the vicinity of Day Circle struck two vehicles, one with passengers inside.
Nakita Majette, 31, of 1803 Day Circle, told investigators that she was in her car with a passenger when it was struck by gunfire multiple times.
Ms. Majette said she was driving through the 2000 block of Day Circle when she heard multiple gunshots. She saw a passenger riding with her duck down in the seat when a bullet struck and shattered her rear window glass before lodging itself in the dashboard.
In the same incident, Sylbester Sanders, 55, of 118 Country View Drive, reported to police that his vehicle was parked in the 2000 block of Day Circle when he heard multiple shots fired.
Upon checking his vehicle, Sanders found that a tire and wheel had been damaged.
Sanders told police that the unknown suspect in the shooting was driving a white, four-door passenger vehicle.
Investigators found six shell casings located in the vicinity of the shooting.
