The Wayne County Board of Elections announced this morning that the board will convene on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Board of Elections office at 209 S. William St. to hold a preliminary hearing related to the election protest filed by Thomas Drew following the Nov. 3 general election.

In his filing, Drew states his protest is being filed against all elections in Wayne County that occurred in the Nov. 3 general election, stating "it is of concern of the quality, not quantity, of votes." He states the protest does not concern a tabulation or vote count error.

Drew goes on to write in his protest filed with the Board of Elections that he is asking for a "petition for judicial review and transfer this election protest to Wake Superior Court."

Drew filed his election protest with the Board of Elections on Nov. 13.
